I've heard that the after-shows for most bands are ages 17+ or 18+..I'm 16 and i would really like to attend one or two..how strict is the age limit policy? you think they'll let a year in age slide?

Most clubs take the age limit quite seriously. I think you'll have to cross your fingers for an all-ages option. If I were in your position, I'm not sure I would commit to spending the $$ on a ticket on the off-chance that I might be able to slip by security at the Metro (or wherever).

The age limit depends on the specific venue that the event is being held at.

What you heard is partially correct - most after-shows are 17+, 18+, or 21+.

There is absolutely no flexibility in these rules. Most Chicago venues are very strict, and the chance you don't get checked is really slim.

Do not waste your time/money. Just enjoy the band at Lolla. It's not worth the trouble. You won't get in.

If you don't make the age cut off, don't count on getting in.

Hi hardcoremidgit,

Sadly (for you), the age policy is pretty strict, as is the ID checking at venues. Most shows will be either 18+ or 21+. Hopefully you'll have better luck next year.

Most places are pretty strict especially ones that are 18+ and 21+ in my experience.
