you could probably get away for under $50 without drinks.
as far as whether it's a good idea pre show... if you get there before 7, it should be fine -- though it will probably be dead. any time after 7 and you're definitely missing liquid liquid and possibly some of lcd.

there's a couple no name local joints a bit east of there -- closer to the train. but unless you can read / speak chinese, you're in for a rough ride. otherwise... wo hop would be my call as well -- possibly noodle town if it was a bit closer to 3 or 4.

Friday supper: Some kinda lamb thing at a little Greek place in Queens.
Saturday lunch: Frozen margarita and chips w/ guac someplace near the Shoe Architect.
Saturday supper: Risotto w/ sweet white onions, spicy & sweet Italian snausages and thyme from Piccolini. Wonderful.
Sunday breakfast: Bacon. Perfectly poached eggs. Toast.
Sunday lunch: Frozen margarita, superb tacos al pastor, remarkably flavorful chicken enchiladas. And refried beans which are surprisingly difficult to find in NY.
Sunday supper: Homemade spinach lasagna and Chianti.

Oh I love Murphy's, don't get me wrong.
But their quality of service, food, and general appeal has slowly been going down bit by bit every year. And I'm gonna go with the cliche answer of blaming the freshman.
Same for Legends. and Brothers.
the 21+ bars off campus are fucking incredible.
