Their set was excellent in 2009! I can't wait to see them again.

I didn't really know much about them in 2009 but their show was great.

Can't wait for this one. It was a great surprise to see them on the lineup.

Most fun you can have with your clothes on....although DD at Coachella was definitely close.

These guys are definitely going to bring the party! The new song they've got streaming on their site is typical Friendly Fires, fun and beautiful! Great sound and pure energy. Plus the lead singer is a beast and will get the crowd pumped up for sure. What a great surprise on the lineup!

Totally agree
I danced my ass off at their Lolla set in 2009 in the 95 degree heat

Oh man, I was dancing my ass off at their set in 2009 too. It was SOOOOO fucking hot that day.

Missed 'em in 2009, but I heard them from across the field while I was waiting for someone else. It sounded great. Probly won't miss em this time.

These guys put on a great show in 09. It was hotter than all mother fucking hell that day. I wasn't even dancing and thought I was gonna vomit from the heat. I must say, I hope they have a better crowd this year. They deserve it with the energy they put out.

Really hope that they play an aftershow so that I can see them twice that weekend

I wish they we're high enough on the lineup to play a dusk set like Cut Copy last year. But they are way too low to play any later than 3 or 4pm on any stage. I hope they are on the shell though.

concertgoer
04-30-2011, 09:17 PM
I don't want them to be in the shell
That stage gets way too hot
Either main stage at 12:30 plz

I really enjoyed seeing Metric and Cut Copy there last year. But that was much later in the day. Now that I remember, seeing Passion Pit at Taste last year when it was only low 80s it was unbearably hot. So I guess I agree with you. I just hope the crowd is more into them this year.

concertgoer
04-30-2011, 09:24 PM
Just get really close to the front
I am sure the crowd will be into it up there

I really like the new album, though it's not as good as the first
Live These Days Tonight, Hawaiian Air and True Love should be fucking bangers live

I seriously can't stop listening to this band

hjkz1982
05-09-2011, 04:48 PM
yeah not nearly as impressed with this album. There's a couple songs that remind me of euro dance from the 90s.

There are a few highlights on Pala. The songs CG mentioned. But the other songs on there are just like the great ones, except not very good.

Still pumped to see them. Live Those Days Tonight should be amazing live.

Listening now... They sound a wee bit like Yeasayer to me.

kind of wish they were on the bonnaroo lineup. I saw them at the majestic cafe in detroit last summer. great show.

Broc1123
05-10-2011, 10:51 AM
Bonnaroo is lacking in the dance-rock/pop genre. It would have been nice to have Cut Copy, Yeasayer, or Friendly Fires on there for late night.

Yeah, I definitely could have gotten down to some LN Cut/Copy.

This album has really grown on me after a third listen
Still like the first one better, but I will be playing it a lot this summer

It's also pretty cool that Lolla is the only American festival that booked Friendly Fires this summer

After first listen, I don't particularly care for it much. I'll try to give it another chance. I did hear one song on XMU the other day that I really liked.

Man. The more I listen to Pala ,the more I hate it. Its not good. So disappointing. Friendly Fires is MILES better

Exact opposite for me. The more I listen to it the more I like it.
Still like Friendly Fires better though

Wasn't really understanding the hype this board was giving them until I saw these, looks like a lot of fun. I'll definitely be checking them out now.

Sucks I'm missing them and Beirut but it just isn't worth the extra 150 I'd have to pay go all 3 instead of just Friday.
