Late compared to last year, but the lineup has been released in early April in previous years.

I made this terrible, unordered and sloppy fake line-up (http://imgur.com/VdLbF) because I hate humanity. Even left some question marks and low Sigur Ros in there

(also beastie boys was because I WANT TO BELIEVE)

JML

Yeah looks a little too unbelievable, mainly because it used the old website layout.

Also The Antlers/The Big Pink are on there twice. Not to mention the goofy billing order all around.

Nice effort though. I would be so ridiculously happy with a lineup that looked like that.

TWO SETS? no I'm kidding, that was just more mistakes.

but if you're lazy and just want to copy and paste stuff around, I have made that slightly easier for everyone who wants to make a (better) fake lineup

a very nice effort, askiba. :)
ordering is a little problematic (Radiohead is a #1 in almost any case of any festival nowadays), but still very cool.

what software did you use to edit it?
toss it on a new slate and see if you can't get some new rumors started.

askiba
02-16-2012, 07:40 PM
Well, wretched, I literally copy-pasted the HTML from the 2010 lineup, changed it, and snapshotted it. So I could definitely fix my various errors, which I will probably attempt now.

EDIT: Actually, here, have a pastebin link. (http://pastebin.com/gJsTRB6W) Copy it, save it as an HMTL file, edit line by line until it's perfect. Go nuts, screenshot it, easy fake lineup. It's not perfect but I'll be damned if I want to spend all day in Photoshop moving text around

WretchedSkye2113
02-16-2012, 07:48 PM
well that's just fucking fancy. :p
can it be done with other lineup sites or was it just the 2010 site where the html was this easy to work with?

askiba
02-16-2012, 07:52 PM
You could do it with Bonnaroo, but it's more headache inducing. And maybe with Lollapalooza 2012, but am I the only who hates that font? It's awful and unreadable... the 2010 was so nice and clean.

Only way it could be better was if they used logos for the headliners instead of text (think Ultra- I think it looks nice.)

JML
02-16-2012, 08:00 PM
I figured out how to do it with the 2011 webpage. I can probably make a fake lineup if nobody else wants to.

Yes it is - http://www.npr.org/blogs/therecord/2010/08/04/128982880/lollapalooza-undergoing-investigation-by-illinois-attorneygeneral.

It can be waived for an artist depending on various factors, but a big band playing multiple shows in the radius within the months leading up to the festival is not going to headline.

Eminem
Muse
Foo Fighters
The Cure or Coldplay
Janes Addiction
Wilco
Chemical Brothers or Fat Boy Slim or Underworld
Arctic Monkeys
Beastie Boys
Talking Heads or The Smiths
The Black Keys

Just upload it as a jpg in the LxLB thread.
Be sure to include Perry's as well.
The billing in each subcategory in the LxLB lineup thread is obviously alphabetical, so feel free to mix those bands around but as a rule of thumb those categories are solid, so a 2pm/5pm band should probably not be billed about a 4pm/7pm band
Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have about it.

I see no good reason to think we aren't getting WTT, or to think that we are getting Rihanna before Jay.

I'm aware of Summer Sonic. Like Wireless, which she's headlining as well, it's an international festival - she's (of international origin and) bigger outside the US than in it. I concede she is an arena act here, though, and it's possible she could headline. Not a #1, though.

Let us know when you figure out how tours and festivals work and stop thinking internet speculation means a tour is happening (that Sabbath/Metallica thing? lol). The WTT Paris (and other European) shows were actually scheduled, and then canceled.

If they were actually scheduled, I'm sure it would be no problem to provide any proof...

Ummm... I'm well aware how these things work. Based on the things you've said today, much much more familiar than you.

Actually you aren't at all, as indicated by the all the window dressing attacks you have to hang on your posts to make up for the lack of content. But I'm sure you still believe otherwise.

Apparently only a ticket sale was canceled, not the shows. Euro tour may be announced very soon.

In short order, you'll be exposed as the no-nothing troll that you actually are.
And don't worry... All these idiotic thoughts you are having about what you think you know will be the topic that will bring me great delight.... and most likely the reason you will leave and never come back.

You'll get it pretty soon, and probably won't need me as a conduit.

Itchy trigger finger? It won't kill you to wait a few hours.
