I thought the "Lol Rolling Stone is credible" was clear sarcasm, but rereading it I can see how it was confusing. I was being dead serious about Julian though. That dude's a cokehead.
And Krentist, I really don't know how to convey over an internet forum how this happened. The line formed at the southwest corner of Schottenstein. My friend kept making laps around the building to kill time. He comes back and tells me he found a way in and leads me and some other dudes to the opposite side. I asked him how and he said he "chatted up" the guard. I honestly think he could have sucked the dude's dick. That sounds unbelievable, but I am certain TBK will be at Lolla.

I think it's different when it's The Black Keys and 21 songs totals something like 70 minutes, like that one guy said. Unless they started adding solos and jams to their set, which I doubt.
Irving_Red

It's a pretty standard number of songs but it goes by way too quickly, especially for a group with 7 goddamn albums. It's also a lot of Brothers, which may be my least favorite.
Edit: what Kev said (which is what I said). The only song they really jam to is I Got Mine and that's the very last song anyway

1) better a shitty edm headliner than the black keys for the 700th time
2) lolla hasn't had a shitty edm headliner yet
I know this was talked about a little while ago but here are my thoughts:
1) I don't know about a "shitty" edm headliner, but I am pretty confident there will be an EDM headliner and here is why:
My friend studies music tech at university of Miami (the one actually in florida, not ohio) and he met a promoter for ultra the other day (not sure the context of the meeting, I think it was for a class maybe). So my friend is chatting up the promoter about what he does and how he gets people to play at ultra, and my friend tries to turn the conversation to lolla headliners. The promoter says he knows them all but he can't tell, BUT to count on a big, really good EDM headliner on friday, comparable to deadmau5 (disagree if you must about the "really good" part). My friend asks if its going to be daft punk, and the promoter says no, they're not playing ANYTHING until they finish their new album, release it, and tour for it. I think you guys already ruled them out, but here's more evidence I guess. BUT. I think this means that shitty or not, EDM headliner on friday is credible.
Also, tbk seems nearly inevitable at this point
2) I agree

Anyone else question the notion of Bon Iver as a headliner? Sure, he's big enough to be a 6 or even 5, so I think he'd probably have to be if he's on the bill. But does he really play night-time main-stage music? At Sasquatch, sure. As a Radiohead warmup at Bonnaroo, fine. But Lolla? Are we sure he isn't doing Pitchfork Friday and Dour Sunday?

What are the average reviews for the albums that win album of the year? Was Adele graded higher this past year than, say, (insert album that got rave reviews here). The Oscars for comparison's sake tend to have an overwhelming majority of nominees that got three to four star reviews across the board (or the movie they were in did). You cannot say that about the grammies.

I'm not a big fan or hater of Black Keys. The problem I think is more serious is who will they schedule against them. I'm thinking that there are more than a few boarders who think C3 will put them opposite with an electronic/DJ/EDM act, and then who do you want to see?

This is exactly what Im hoping for.
First night could be TBK vs SHM vs M83 vs MIA? Odd Future?
Or TBK vs SHM vs M83 vs Justice

I am not saying that Justice can't fit at Perry's. If we are getting an edm headliner on the north stage this year on Friday there is a more evidence that it will be Justice instead of SHM or someone else.

if there is an EDM headliner on a main stage, i doubt they would book someone they size of justice to play perrys on top of that.

This post kinda has me thinking we aren't getting one. With all these headlining caliber acts rumored, it probably means the bottom line will consist of 3 of Beck, Jack White, Bon Iver, Florence, and Passion Pit.

And he said it would be a big headliner. Not many really fit that category.
Guetta/Justice/SHM/Chemical Brothers/Tiesto/Daft Punk (not gonna happen)
