I could dig The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, or Aphex Twin as a headliner because they've been around for a couple of decades. Justice and SHM have been around for 5 years are only extremely popular because of the EDM trend. That's all it is. Kids hopping on a bandwagon.

I also thought that there is no way that Lolla would leak two headliners right away, but to play devil's advocate the clues have almost stopped. We had one yesterday and none today. Maybe Lolla wanted to drop some big names on the first day?

My feeling is that they leaked 2 headliners early because they had room to do so. As CG referred to, 3 of the 6 were leaked by Greg Kot in February last year, so they needed to keep the rest as secret as possible. That wasn't the case this year. Personally, I think it's a good idea to have 1 or 2 out in the open because it probably drives up sales prior to the announcement.

I also remember strong hints that No Doubt (not very new either) would be playing another Chicago fest. I also remember zero evidence that either would play Lolla.

Tool will begin recording their new album in June, marking their first time back in the studio since 2006's 10,000 Days. Drummer Danny Carey noted that the LP could be finished within 2012:

"I'm hoping we'll get in the studio by June or July and start tracking . . . The tracking part I'd say [takes] two to three months then probably a month to mix and master and that's it."

Carey also gave fans an insight into the band's creative process:

"Sometimes, if I come up with a beat, the guys will write a riff to that. Like, Justin [Chancellor, bass player] has really been prolific on this record. He's been coming in with tons of riffs. I usually try to find something to compliment it rather than play what he's playing . . ."

I've personally dealt with recording music and I can tell you that it takes a lot of focus and time writing, recording, rewriting, rerecording, mixing, mastering, etc. Touring and recording at the same time seems unlikely so, unfortunately, I would have to rule Tool out this year.

Sabbath and the throne are consistently on peoples predictions. Yet hardly anyone thinks pearl jam can play. All 3 only have European dates in the summer. Pj's dates end in July with vedder doing solo shows, the last one being on aug 3rd in Portugal. If everyone is convinced jay/ye are playing based on their tour/sched, then why not pj??
