This isn't speculation per-say, but a band like Alice in Chains/Smashing Pumpkins (90s legacy act who aren't relevant enough/ lacking original line up) would they be given a 4,5,6 spot or sub spot?
Krentistthedentist
09-08-2011, 07:11 PM
Alice is a sub.
Not sure about Pumpkins.
thefrontman55
09-08-2011, 07:15 PM
That's what i was thinking about Alice, but i can't decide about Smashing Pumpkins either. I know it's not really relevant to the discussion other than I'd say there's a decent shot for either of those bands being on a Lollapalooza line up.

Decent guess. I don't them bringing the Killers back so soon, especially as a #2, kinda like how Coldplay got bumped to #3 after not being in the news for a couple years.
Modest Mouse, unless they have an album coming out, wouldn't be really be headliner worthy as this point. That isn't gonna get people excited.
The rest is feasible though.

So Radiohead, Foo Fighters, White Stripes, Daft Punk, for some examples, are lesser than Mastodon?
#1 You're a fag for even suggesting Foo Fighters are anywhere as good as Mastodon
#2 In the years 2000-present, yes. Mastodon has absolutely been better than Radiohead.
#3 Same thing with Daft Punk. Keep in mind that 50% of DPs post-mastodon material has been Human After All
#4 White Stripes were obviously a great band, but their best album came out before Remission had even been released.
So, yes, all those bands are lesser than mastodon.
