It was orignally $339 for thursday-monday

Stayed at the HoJo in Elk Grove...55 bucks a night, which is insanely good. Considering I'm a poor college grad with no actual job yet, it had to do. We drove to the Cumberland CTA stop, plenty of parking on all days, it was only 6 bucks to park between 12-14 hours or something like that, and the blue line is 2.25 each way. Beats the hell out of paying out the nose for a hotel each night in Chicago if you're poor. Last year I paid 120 a night for the Residence Inn, and the convenience of being in Chicago was great, but the Residence Inn was kind of a walk from Grant Park. The blue line trip from Cumberland was like 40 minutes, but it took us right by Lolla, Jackson stop. They run trains all the time so it was easy getting back as well. So it was worth the inconvenience traveling to save all that money, and it wasn't even as inconvenient as I thought. It would have been nice though to trek back to the hotel during the evacuation, but who would have thought that was going to happen. The hotel was pretty nice, it was clean, free breakfast, free parking. All you can ask for really considering the super low price.
Elk Grove was kind of a dump, so there wasn't anything to do there. But, I was there for the music so I didn't give a shit. Got back late every night and left early for Lolla the next day anyway. Coming from Long Island, showing up to Lolla at 4 or 5 made no sense, I wanted to get the most out of it. Was there around 12 every day.

Nature boy: "Who knew that nana hated Donna Summer so much? Not me."
Greg Nasty: "Did you look at the list of people who would not attend? It's a bunch of losers and nanatod."
Wretched: "Someone explain it to scotty again in even more unnecessary depth."
Very pleased with The Palomar this year! Ended up at The Allerton on Monday night and it was decent, especially for $90.

Okay, because I knew I was missing something. Read the wikipedia page for Elk Grove and it said 32,000 people lived there and all I saw was one trailer park, an industrial park, the Days Inn, our hotel, and a few fast food places. Total dump. I was wondering where they put the people because there were none there.
Best Western already has their prices stacked up just for Lolla weekend. Twice as expensive. Assholes.
